About this Rug
Mehriban is an important rug producing district north of Hamadan in Iran. There are two distinct types of Mehriban rugs, both single wefted. The older style, which is more tribal and geometric is best known for long, narrow runners and mid size rugs. The other Mehriban style is based on the American Sarouk floral style. Blues, reds with cream, gold and light blue tend to be the dominant colors. The quality of the weaving is very fine with a thick lustrous pile. These rugs blend well with many decor styles.
