MORE ABOUT TRIBAL RUGS
The key feature in carpet-manufacturing production is that the designer and the weaver are two distinct individuals. With most nomad and village production in Iran and elsewhere, however, the weaver is also the designer. That said, there is no pre-set design when it comes to weaving a tribal rug; it is created by the weaver as he or she goes along. One may point to the incredibly fine workmanship to be found in these tribal rugs, with their properly thought-out designs, harmonious colors and superb materials.
